Company Units

Company Units Tab

To add a Department, Location or Division:

  1. From the main menu, click System Setup, then click Company Settings.
  2. Click on the Company Units tab.
  3. Depending on what type of Company Unit you are creating, click on Department, Location or Division.
  4. Click the Add New button.
  5. Enter the new name. Click Save to confirm the addition or Cancel to return to the Company Units screen.
  6. Add additional units as needed by repeating steps 3-5.

To edit a Department, Location or Division name:

  1. From the main menu, click System Setup, then click Company Settings.
  2. Click on the Company Units tab.
  3. Depending on what type of Company Unit you are editing, click on Department, Location or Division.
  4. From the dropdown list, select the unit you wish to edit.
  5. Click the Edit button.
  6. Edit the name in the Department Name, Location Name, or Division Name field that appears.
  7. Click Save to confirm the changes or Cancel to return to the Company Units screen.

To delete a Department, Location or Division:

  1. From the main menu, click System Setup, then click Company Settings.
  2. Click on the Company Units tab.
  3. Depending on what type of Company Unit you are deleting, click on Department, Location or Division.
  4. From the dropdown list, select the unit you wish to delete.
  5. Click the Delete button.
  6. A warning box appears to verify your selection. Click Yes to confirm the delete or Cancel to return to the Company Units screen.

Note:

When a Department, Division, or Location is deleted, the Employee Data records are updated simultaneously. All employees assigned to the unit deleted will no longer have that assignment appear in their data records.

Viewing Employees in Departments, Locations and Divisions

To view employees assigned and not assigned to company units:

  1. From the main menu, click System Setup, then click Company Settings.
  2. Click on the Company Units tab.
  3. Depending on what type of Company Unit you wish to view, click on Department, Location or Division.
  4. From the dropdown list, select any unit.
  5. Employees not assigned to this Company Unit are listed in the Not In Department (or Division or Location) list.
  6. Employees currently assigned to this Company Unit are listed in the Currently Assigned To This Department (or Division or Location) list.

To view employees not assigned to any Department, Location or Division:

  1. From the main menu, click System Setup, then click Company Settings.
  2. Click on the Company Units tab.
  3. Depending on what type of Company Unit you wish to view, click on Department, Location or Division.
  4. From the dropdown list, select any unit.
  5. Click the Show all unassigned Employees radio button.
  6. The No Department (or Location or Division) list reflects those employees with no assignment.

Maintaining and Updating Departments, Locations and Divisions

To move an employee to a Department, Location or Division:

  1. From the main menu, click System Setup, then click Company Settings.
  2. Click on the Company Units tab.
  3. Depending on what type of Company Unit you are working in, click on Department, Location or Division.
  4. From the dropdown list, select the Company Unit you wish to move the employee to.
  5. From the Not In Department (or Division or Location) list, click on the employee you wish to move.
  6. Click the single right arrow button to move the employee.

    Note:

    To select multiple users, hold down the Ctrl key on your keyboard while clicking on each user name. To quickly select groups of users who are adjacent in the list, hold down the Shift key on your keyboard while clicking the top and bottom user in the adjacent group.

  7. If you click the double right arrow, it will move the entire Not In Department (or Location or Division) list to the Currently Assigned To This Department (or Location or Division) list.
  8. Click Save on the toolbar.

To remove an employee from a selected Department, Location, or Division:

  1. From the main menu, click System Setup, then click Company Settings.
  2. Click on the Company Units tab.
  3. Depending on what type of Company Unit you are working in, click on Department, Location or Division.
  4. From the dropdown list, select the Company Unit you wish to remove an employee from.
  5. From the Currently Assigned To This Department (or Location or Division) list, select the employee you wish to remove.
  6. Click the single left arrow button to move the employee out of the Department, Location or Division.

    Note:

  7. If you click the double left arrow button it will move the entire Currently Assigned To This Department (or Location or Division) list to the Not In Department (or Location or Division) list.
