To view a Current or Future Goal:
- From the main menu, under Employee Documents, click Employee Goal Tools.
- The Current Goals tab will display. Click the Future Goals tab if desired.
- From the employee dropdown list on the toolbar, click the down arrow and select the user you wish to view or click Search on the toolbar.
- Click on the Name of the Goal you wish to view.
- The Goal Info, Weight, Details, and Action Steps will display.
To edit a Current or Future Goal:
- From the main menu, under Employee Documents, click Employee Goal Tools.
- The Current Goals tab will display. Click the Future Goals tab if desired.
- From the employee dropdown list on the toolbar, click the down arrow and select the user you wish to view or click Search on the toolbar.
- Click the Edit icon beside the Goal you wish to edit.
- The Goal Info, Weight, Details, and Action Steps will display.
- Make any necessary changes.
- Click Save on the toolbar.
To delete a Current or Future Goal:
- From the main menu, under Employee Documents, click Employee Goal Tools.
- The Current Goals tab will display. Click the Future Goals tab if desired.
- From the employee dropdown list on the toolbar, click the down arrow and select the user you wish to view or click Search on the toolbar.
- Click the Delete icon beside the Goal you wish to delete.
- A warning message appears. Click Yes to confirm the delete, or Cancel to return to the Current Goals screen.
Note:
When a Goal is deleted, it is completely removed from the Performance Pro system. There is no archive or backup file from which to retrieve deleted Goals. Delete Goals with caution!
To copy a Goal from Current to Future or vice versa:
- From the main menu, under Employee Documents, click Employee Goal Tools.
- The Current Goals tab will display. If the desired goal is in the Future period, click on the Future Goals tab.
- From the employee dropdown list on the toolbar, click the down arrow and select the user you wish to view or click Search on the toolbar.
- Click the Copy icon beside the Goal you wish to copy.
- The Goal will be copied into the opposite period.
To add a new Current or Future Goal:
- From the main menu, under Employee Documents, click Employee Goal Tools.
- The Current Goals tab will display. Click the Future Goals tab if desired.
- Click the Add New Button.
- Enter a new Goal name in the Name box. For easy viewing of the titles, keep them brief.
- Enter a detailed description of the Goal in the Description box.
- Click Spelling and/or Language Check to review your text.
- Enter a Weight in the Weight box.
Note:
The total weight of all Goals must equal 100%.
- If you would like to assign this Goal a due date, enter the date in the Due Date field (dd-mm-yyyy) or click on the calendar icon and select the desired date.
- Click Save from the toolbar.
- If desired, add specific Goal Action Steps by clicking Add New in the Action Steps box. Enter a Name, Description and Due Date for the Action Step.
- Click Spelling and/or Language Check to review your text.
- Click Save to enter the Action Step or Cancel to leave the page without entering the Action Step.
- Repeat until all Action Steps have been entered.
- Click Save on the toolbar.
- Repeat steps 3-14 until all Goals and applicable Action Steps have been entered.
Note:
All Goals and their weights are finalized by the Manager unless locked by an Administrative User.
To administer a Goal to multiple employees, positions, Departments, Divisions, or Locations:
- From the main menu, under Employee Documents, click Employee Goal Tools.
- If the Goal already exists, from the employee dropdown list on the toolbar, click the down arrow and select the user to whom the Goal is assigned or click Search on the toolbar.
- The Current Goals tab will display. (If you wish to view a future Goal, click the Future Goals tab.)
- Click on the Name of the Goal from the Goals box. Skip to step #6.
- If the Goal does not exist, select an employee to whom the Goal will be assigned. Create the Goal and Action Steps as appropriate.
- With the chosen Goal being displayed, click the Admin button.
- Click the Current Period or Future Period radio button depending on which period you would like the Goal assigned.
- If the Goal has assigned Action Steps and you wish the Action Steps to also be assigned check the Copy Goal Action Steps box.
- Select the employees, positions, Departments, Divisions, or Locations to whom you wish to assign the Goal by clicking on the category heading and making your selection from the dropdown list. To make multiple selections, hold down the Ctrl key and click on the desired items. Click Select All to choose every employee in the category. Click Clear All to delete all selections.
- Click Select to save your selections or Cancel to disregard your selections.
- Click Save on the toolbar to assign the Goal. Depending upon the number of employees selected, it may take the system several moments to complete the task. Do not interrupt the process or leave the page until the task has been completed.
To lock a Goal:
- From the main menu, under Employee Documents, click Employee Goal Tools.
- The Current Goals tab will display. Click the Future Goals tab if desired.
- From the employee dropdown list on the toolbar, click the down arrow and select the user you wish to view or click Search on the toolbar.
- Click on the Name of the Goal you wish to lock.
- The Goal Info, Weight, Details, and Action Steps will display.
- In the Details box, click in the boxes of the items you wish to lock.
- Click Save on the toolbar.
