Goal Library Tab
To add a new Goal category:
- From the main menu, click System Setup, then click Content Customization.
- Click on the Goal Library tab.
- Click on Categories.
- Click the Company or Organizational radio button depending on which type of category you are setting up.
- Click the Add New button.
- Enter the new name in the Category Name box. Click Save to confirm the addition or Cancel to return to the Categories screen.
To edit a Goal category:
- From the main menu, click System Setup, then click Content Customization.
- Click on the Goal Library tab.
- Click on Categories.
- Click the Company or Organizational radio button depending on which contains the category you wish to edit.
- From the Available Categories dropdown list, click the down arrow and select the category you wish to edit.
- Click the Edit button.
- Edit the name in the Category Name field that appears.
- Click Save to confirm the changes or Cancel to return to the Categories screen.
To delete a Goal category:
- From the main menu, click System Setup, then click Content Customization.
- Click on the Goal Library tab.
- Click on Categories.
- Click the Company or Organizational radio button depending on which contains the category you wish to delete.
- From the Available Categories dropdown list, click the down arrow and select the category you wish to delete.
- Click the Delete button.
- A warning box appears to verify your selection. Click Yes to confirm the delete or Cancel to return to the Categories screen.
Setting up Company Goals
To create a Company Goal from a Master Company Goal Template:
- From the main menu, click System Setup, then click Content Customization.
- Click on the Goal Library tab.
- Click on Company.
- Click the Master radio button.
- From the Master Categories dropdown list, click the down arrow and select the category that contains the Goal you wish to copy.
- From the Available Goals dropdown list, click the down arrow and select the Goal you wish to copy to the Company Goal list.
- To see all Goals, regardless of category, click Show All.
- Click the Copy to Company button.
- A warning box appears to verify your selection. Click Yes to confirm the copy or Cancel to return to the Company screen.
- The Goal will now appear in the Company Goal list with the same category and Goal name from the Master list.
To duplicate a Company Goal:
- From the main menu, click System Setup, then click Content Customization.
- Click on the Goal Library tab.
- Click on Company.
- Click the Company radio button.
- From the Available Categories dropdown list, click the down arrow and select the category to which the Goal is assigned.
- From the Available Goals dropdown list, click the down arrow and select the Goal you wish to duplicate.
- To see all Goals, regardless of category, click Show All.
- Click the Duplicate button.
- The duplicated Goal will be named “Goal Name-(Copy).” (For example, if you duplicate “Sales Performance,” the new Factor will be named “Sales Performance (Copy).”)
- Edit (rename) and update the available content by inserting your cursor into the appropriate fields.
- Click Save on the toolbar.
To create a new Company Goal:
- From the main menu, click System Setup, then click Content Customization.
- Click on the Goal Library tab.
- Click on Company.
- From the Available Categories dropdown list, click the down arrow and select any category.
- Click the Add New button.
- From the Available Categories dropdown list, click the down arrow and select a category to which the Goal will be assigned. (This field is mandatory.)
- From the Category dropdown list, click the down arrow and confirm the category to which the Goal will be assigned. (This field is mandatory.)
- Enter the new Goal name by clicking in the Name field and typing. (This field is mandatory.)
- Enter the Goal description by clicking in the Description field and typing.
- Click Spelling and/or Language Check to review your text.
- Click Save on the toolbar.
To set Weights, Due Date, and Locks on a Company Goal:
- From the main menu, click System Setup, then click Content Customization.
- Click on the Goal Library tab.
- Click on Company.
- From the Available Categories dropdown list, click the down arrow and select the category that contains the Goal you wish to edit.
- From the Available Goals dropdown list, click the down arrow and select the Goal you wish to edit.
- To see all Goals, regardless of category, click Show All, then highlight the Goal and click Select.
- If you would like to give this Goal a default weight, enter the percentage in the Default Weight box.
- If you would like to assign this Goal a due date, enter the date in the Due Date field (dd-mm-yyyy) or click on the calendar icon and select the desired date.
- If you would like to lock the Name, Description, Weight, or Due Date so the employee and appraiser cannot edit the information, click in the appropriate Lock boxes.
- Click in the Lock to Employee box if you would like to prevent the manager and employee from deleting the Goal.
- Click Save on the toolbar.
Note:
Locking all aspects of the Goal enables you to synchronize edits for all employees to whom the Goal is assigned.
To create Action Steps for a Company Goal:

To expand or minimize the Action Steps, Assign, or Link sections click on the title of the desired section.
- From the main menu, click System Setup, then click Content Customization.
- Click on the Goal Library tab.
- Click on Company.
- From the Available Categories dropdown list, click the down arrow and select the category that contains the Goal you wish to edit.
- From the Available Goals dropdown list, click the down arrow and select the Goal to which you wish to add Action Steps.
- In the Action Steps section, click the Add New button.
- Enter the Name, Description, and Due Date for the Action Step in the box that appears.
- Click Select to add the Action Step or Cancel to return to the Company screen.
- Repeat until all Action Steps have been assigned to the Goal.
- Click Save on the toolbar.
To edit a Goal Action Step on a Company Goal:
- From the main menu, click System Setup, then click Content Customization.
- Click on the Goal Library tab.
- Click on Company.
- From the Available Categories dropdown list, click the down arrow and select the category to which the Goal is assigned.
- From the Available Goals dropdown list, click the down arrow and select the Goal you wish to edit.
- In the Action Steps section, click the Edit icon beside the desired Action Step.
- Insert your cursor into the appropriate fields and edit the information as needed.
- Click Select to save the changes or Cancel to return to the Company screen.
- Click Save on the toolbar.
To delete a Goal Action Step on a Company Goal:
- From the main menu, click System Setup, then click Content Customization.
- Click on the Goal Library tab.
- Click on Company.
- From the Available Categories dropdown list, click the down arrow and select the category to which the Goal is assigned.
- From the Available Goals dropdown list, click the arrow and select the Goal you wish to edit.
- In the Action Steps section, click the Delete icon beside the desired Action Step.
- A warning message appears. Click OK to confirm the delete, or Cancel to return to the Company screen.
- Click Save on the toolbar.
Warning:
Deleting Action Steps may cause the loss of data on current evaluations.
To assign a Company Goal:
- From the main menu, click System Setup, then click Content Customization.
- Click on the Goal Library tab.
- Click on Company.
- From the Available Categories dropdown list, click the down arrow and select the category that contains the Goal you want to assign.
- From the Available Goals dropdown list, click the down arrow and select the Goal you wish to assign.
- Click Assign below the Action Steps section.
- In the Assign section, click the Add New button.
- Click the Current Period or Future Period radio button.
- If Action Steps have been created and you desire to assign the Goal Action Steps as well, click in the Copy Goal Action Steps? box.
Note:
The Goal can be assigned to individual employee names, or to all employees in a position, a Department, a Location, or a Division.
- Click on the appropriate grouping and choose the employee name(s), position(s), Department(s), Location(s), or Division(s) to which you wish to assign the Goal. Clicking the Select All button next to the grouping will select all items in that list. Clicking the Clear All button next to the grouping will clear all selections in that list.
- When all recipients of the Goal have been selected click Select to assign the Goal or Cancel to return to the Company screen.
- If all features of this Goal have been locked, click the Synchronize to individual assignments box if you would like the ability to make edits to this Goal from the Company Goals screen instead of each user’s individual Goal screen.
- Click Save on the toolbar.
To delete a Company Goal assignment:
Warning!
Deleting a Company Goal assignment does not delete the Goal from the employee’s appraisal. It only deletes the ability to synchronize the Goal between the two screens. To fully delete a Goal assignment, you must delete it from the Assign box and the Employee Goal Tools screen.
- From the main menu, click System Setup, then click Content Customization.
- Click on the Goal Library tab.
- Click on Company.
- From the Available Categories dropdown list, click the down arrow and select the category to which the Goal is assigned.
- From the Available Goals dropdown list, click the down arrow and select the desired Goal.
- In the Assign section, click the Delete icon beside the desired assignment.
- A warning message appears. Click OK to confirm the delete, or Cancel to return to the Company screen.
- Click Save on the toolbar.
Setting up Organizational Goals
To create a new Organizational Goal:
- From the main menu, click System Setup, then click Content Customization.
- Click on the Goal Library tab.
- Click Organizational.
- From the Available Categories dropdown list, click the down arrow and select the category to which the Goal will be assigned.
- Click the Add New button.
- From the Categories dropdown list, click the down arrow and select the category to which the Goal will be assigned.
- Enter the new Goal name by clicking in the Name field and typing. (This field is mandatory.)
- Enter the Goal description by clicking in the Description field and typing.
- Click Spelling and/or Language Check to review your text.
- Click Save on the toolbar.
To set Optional Settings on an Organizational Goal:
- From the main menu, click System Setup, then click Content Customization.
- Click on the Goal Library tab.
- Click Organizational.
- From the Available Categories dropdown list, click the down arrow and select the category that contains the desired Goal.
- From the Available Goals dropdown list, click the down arrow and select the Goal you wish to edit.
- If you would like to give this Goal a calendar year assignment, enter the year in the Calendar Year field.
- If you would like to assign a start date for this Goal, enter the date in the Start Date field (dd-mm-yyyy) or click on the calendar icon and select the desired date.
- If you would like to assign an end date for this Goal, enter the date in the End Date field (dd-mm-yyyy) or click on the calendar icon and select the desired date.
- Click Save on the toolbar.
To create Action Steps for an Organizational Goal:
- From the main menu, click System Setup, then click Content Customization.
- Click on the Goal Library tab.
- Click Organizational.
- From the Available Categories dropdown list, click the down arrow and select the category that contains the desired Goal.
- From the Available Goals dropdown list, click the down arrow and select the Goal to which you wish to add Action Steps.
- In the Action Steps section, click the Add New button.
- Enter the Name, Description, and Due Date for the Action Step in the box that appears.
- Click Save to add the Action Step or Cancel to return to the Organizational screen.
- Repeat steps 6-8 until all Action Steps have been assigned to the Goal.
- Click Save on the toolbar.
To edit a Goal Action Step on an Organizational Goal:
- From the main menu, click System Setup, then click Content Customization.
- Click on the Goal Library tab.
- Click Organizational.
- From the Available Categories dropdown list, click the down arrow and select the category to which the Goal is assigned.
- From the Available Goals dropdown list, click the down arrow and select the Goal you wish to edit.
- In the Action Steps section, click the Edit icon beside the desired Action Step.
- Insert your cursor into the appropriate fields and edit the information as needed.
- Click Select to save the changes or Cancel to return to the Organizational screen.
- Click Save on the toolbar.
To delete a Goal Action Step on an Organizational Goal:
- From the main menu, click System Setup, then click Content Customization.
- Click on the Goal Library tab.
- Click Organizational.
- From the Available Categories dropdown list, click the down arrow and select the category to which the Goal is assigned.
- From the Available Goals dropdown list, click the down arrow and select the Goal you wish to edit.
- In the Action Steps section, click the Delete icon beside the desired Action Step.
- A warning message appears. Click OK to confirm the delete, or Cancel to return to the Organizational screen.
- Click Save on the toolbar.

To link an Organizational Goal to a Company Goal:
- From the main menu, click System Setup, then click Content Customization.
- Click on the Goal Library tab.
- Click on Organizational.
- From the Available Categories dropdown list, click the down arrow and select the category to which the Goal is assigned.
- From the Available Goals dropdown list, click the down arrow and select the desired Goal.
- Click Link below the Action Steps area.
- From the Link box, click Add New. A list of Company Goal categories will display.
- Click on the correct category to display all Company Goals within that category.
- Click in the box beside the Company Goal you wish to link.
- Click Select All to select all Goals within the category.
- Click Clear All to clear all your Goal selections.
- Click Select to link the Goal or Cancel to return to the Company screen.
- Click Save on the toolbar.
